Dear Jamshid thank you for the question, it is really stimulating.
I think I shouldn't be wrong by saying that we can talk of timing and distance both in mumayies and in sparring.

In mummayies, I see timing as the capability to perform the techniques in sequence following an armonic rythm, keeping control on the moves and on the body at the same time. The distance if managed properly during the progress of the form allows you to end the mummay in the same spot where it has begun.

In sparring, I see timing as the capability of percieve the movement of the opponent and to react properly avoiding to be reached by the blow, and the distance as something important to manage so to keep out of reach fo the opponent and where it is possible to plan the offense.

I could also add that timing and distance are important in techniques too. The different parts of the body has to be synchronized to let the energy flow through all the body and to have in this way a powerful effect, and the distance can be seen as the one between the final part of the body and the center. I mean, in oranto for example, the fist goes in front of the body at face high, and the arm forms a 135 degree angle, so there is a distance to be managed also in the techniques to have them done properly.

I hope not to have gone too far from the question. Thank you!
