Thank you dear Ostad! Having a backup move is a brand new concept for me.
You said that in this form we practice to have balance and to fight in two different directions. This makes me think about the name of the mummay, atado, that should be "union of two things". Maybe it is also about directions?

Anyway, you said that most backups are plus directions. Could you please explain a little more? Are you talking about techniques in which I do something like attack or difence in one direction and than do another one at 90 degrees to the side?
If it is like this, for example when we do double mato vertical and Oranto with left hand, the following techniques at 90 degree Orato with right hand and left mato could these be backups? We had already done a previous attack on that side by grabbing and doing Mato punch, so could this have been a situation in which nothing happened? Or not?
I hope not to have messed up everything!

I said, when doing a form or Mumaiy, you are practising techniques in different directions and continuously attack and defend. The backup is part of it.

Adato means to discover your world emotionally and physically. To get to know your surroundings. That's why you fight in different directions.

Your example about Atado's double Mato is not correct. It is not a backup. It is continuing the technique in a different direction.

Ok I think I got it now, thank you! And thank you also for the explanation of the meaning of Atado! I will remember it and I will keep it in mind.
Two more things: would you tell me please if I am right if I say that Atado has only 2 gados?
And if there is a reason because in Anattawa the third time we take the fist to the side we don't say "hais"? 4 times we goes in that position and 3 times we say Hais. I thought that the 3rd one was maybe too close to the 2nd and I would loose energy. Or not?

I believe you are talking about the 3rd, 4th and 5th Duma defense in Anattawa.
So, the 1st and 3rd have "Heis" which is OK. But why the 2nd one doesn't have it, is because you should learn to get "kia" without making a noise. It means you get the air out of your system without saying "Heis", On that position still you have to empty the lungs from air, squeeze the stomach muscles and be ready to get the hit at the same time as the other times with "Heis".

Dear Ostad Jalilzadeh dear friends, I have a question in mind for a long time, a stupid question.
Your symbol and that of Yarommeh to have both a closed fist, but a right and a left.
it is possible to know the meaning of a closed fist?
I always thought that the meaning was "union".
The other question is, why one right and one left?

Thanks
